These are some built in book shelves that I put in last year. The room took some water damage so we decided to redo the whole thing and build the “library” my wife always wanted. The one live edge shelf is from a large oak tree that fell in our yard. I milled it out with an Alaskan Mill and I think it fits in quite nicely. The bottom photo is a small inlay piece that I made to take care of a really large knot in the live edge piece that I just couldn’t salvage. I cut out the knot and used an oak leaf as a guide for the carving and inlayed some maple for the veins.
